Project Application Engineer General Role Description Define project system requirements and develop system specification for Industrial Systems projects Role Accountabilities -   Develop detail system specifications for drive, motor, transformer, switchgear, sensor and automation equipment suppliers through collaboration with mechanical original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and end-user clients, per the contract and global industry standards, to ensure high quality designs and on-time delivery -   Ensure “as shipped” systems meet all client requirements as defined in the project contract, including system specifications and performance guarantees, while achieving business goals and objectives -   Conduct power system studies to ensure that the existing or proposed system is adequate to meet requirements of new equipment while meeting applicable global and local utility standards  -   Evaluate supplier proposals to determine the best technical and most cost-effective solution for the application -   Manage equipment costs, recommending cost reductions when feasible -   Prepare purchase specification and ERP requisition in a timely manner to support the project schedule -   Conduct detailed design reviews, internally and externally, with suppliers and clients -   Provide timely technical guidance to internal and external clients and suppliers as required to ensure total project requirements are met -   Provide technical and costing information for the preparation of technical proposals, using client specifications and knowledge of Company solutions -   Provide technical consultation to assist clients in specifying solutions to technology challenges that results in projects for the Company -   Create a network of relationships with clients, mechanical OEM’s, and suppliers for successful project execution and to build a pipeline of potential business within the Industrial Systems market. -   Prepare and deliver presentations at technical conferences and client meetings at client sites or other locations as specified or necessary -   Identify and recommend new applications and/or new products to drive business growth opportunities & new markets -   Provide project management services as assigned General Employee Accountabilities -   Bring full effort to bear on tasks assigned by manager -   Give manager best advice -   Give earliest notice when work cannot be delivered as specified -   Cooperate and collaborate with peers and interact cross-organizationally as specified by manager -   Exemplify Company Core Values:  Integrity, Client Focus, Team Orientation, and Personal Commitment -   Comply with all Company policies, practices, and procedures and all regulations and laws -   Recommend viable improvements proactively -   Ensure effective utilization of business tools and processes Requirements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree  in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering with control automation coursework, mechatronics, computer engineering or related field or equivalent via education and/or work experience 2 years' related work experience in specifying, designing, commissioning, and/or maintaining industrial drive, automation, and control systems for complex coordinated industrial systems applications Demonstrated knowledge in one or more areas of industrial VFDs, motors, transformers, switchgears, sensors Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards such as NEC, IEC, IEEE Demonstrated negotiation skills Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Visio Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, approximately 15%, occasionally with limited notice Preferred Qualifications –  5 years' related work experience in specifying, designing, commissioning, and/or maintaining industrial drive, automation, and control systems for complex coordinated industrial system applications –  Advanced knowledge of TMEIC or equivalent manufacturer’s products, tools, architectures, and design concepts –  Demonstrated knowledge in application of VFDs, motors, transformers, switchgears, sensors in industrial environment –  Demonstrated extensive knowledge, skills, and experience in the following: - metal rolling and processing automation and process control; - port crane systems; - motors and VFD applications for metals industry or crane systems; - industrial power system analysis including load flow, short circuit, coordination, harmonics, and power quality;
