Boutique architecture studio in downtown Milwaukee is seeking a Project Architect / Architectural Designer to work on a mix of high-end residential and commercial/institutional projects, many of which are active, high-visibility builds. With dozens of projects movingsimultaneously, this role is best suited for an architect who values autonomy, wants direct influence on design and delivery, and enjoys seeing their work built.

This is not a compartmentalized role. The person in this seat will contribute across the full project lifecycle, working closely with principals, consultants, and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Produce Revit-based drawing sets from schematic design through constructiondocuments
  • Support and participate in construction administration, including responding to RFIs and coordinating with contractors
  • Develop design drawings, details, and documentation across multiple active projects
  • Coordinate directly with consultants, builders, and clients
  • Contribute to thoughtful, sustainable design solutions while maintaining technical accuracy

Qualifications

  • Professional experience using Revit in a production environment (not internships or academic work)
  • Experience delivering projects from schematic design through construction documentation and administration
  • Strong understanding of how buildings are constructed and assembled
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with contractors and developers
  • Experience working in small or mid-size firms where project responsibilities are broad
  • Ability to work fully on-site in Milwaukee during standard business hours

Preferred

  • Professional licensure (or progress toward licensure)
  • Experience across residential, commercial, institutional, or multifamily project types
  • Comfortable taking ownership of drawing sets with minimal oversight
  • Collaborative, solution-oriented working style suited to a small studio environment

Why This Role

  • Boutique studio that offers high-visibility, influence, and autonomy
  • High-profile, built work that moves quickly from design to construction
  • Broad project exposure instead of narrow, task-based assignments
  • Opportunity to make a visible impact on projects, processes, and outcomes
  • Direct impact role in a small studio, not a layer in a large hierarchy
