We are looking for a technically skilled, design-driven Project Architect to join their Residential team in Pleasanton, CA. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to take ownership of complex projects and contribute meaningfully to a studio that values both craft and community.
What You'll Do
Lead architectural assignments on moderate to complex low-density residential projects, including single-family detached, townhouses, and condos
Oversee and lead QA/QC reviews of project documents to ensure accuracy, code compliance, and clear alignment with design intent and client expectations, with a particular emphasis on townhouse and single-family detached residential projects.
Provide architectural direction from Schematic Design through Construction Administration, ensuring quality, code compliance, and design intent are maintained throughout
Direct and oversee the production of design and construction documents
Analyze design, planning, and layout solutions to support project goals
Maintain clear, ongoing communication with clients, consultants, project managers, and the broader project team
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff, supporting their professional development
What You'll Bring
Deep experience in technical and design development, with a preference for low-density residential project types
Strong knowledge of building codes and the ability to apply them creatively and effectively
High proficiency in Revit/BIM and SketchUp
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
A self-motivated, reliable work ethic with the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently and within a team
A curiosity-driven mindset and genuine commitment to continuous growth
Qualifications
Licensed Architect in the State of California (required)
5+ years of relevant experience
Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture from an NAAB-accredited program
Must be legally authorized to work for any U.S. employer without restriction; visa sponsorship is not available for this position
