Overview

Our client is a well-established, award-winning architecture, planning, and interiors firm with decades of experience and multiple offices across California and beyond. Known for designing communities that promote human fulfillment and well-being, they have built a strong reputation for thoughtful, high-quality residential work and a people-first studio culture. They offer a collaborative environment where design excellence, professional growth, and meaningful client relationships are at the core of everything they do.

We are looking for a technically skilled, design-driven Project Architect to join their Residential team in Pleasanton, CA. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to take ownership of complex projects and contribute meaningfully to a studio that values both craft and community.

What You'll Do

  • Lead architectural assignments on moderate to complex low-density residential projects, including single-family detached, townhouses, and condos

  • Oversee and lead QA/QC reviews of project documents to ensure accuracy, code compliance, and clear alignment with design intent and client expectations, with a particular emphasis on townhouse and single-family detached residential projects.

  • Provide architectural direction from Schematic Design through Construction Administration, ensuring quality, code compliance, and design intent are maintained throughout

  • Direct and oversee the production of design and construction documents

  • Analyze design, planning, and layout solutions to support project goals

  • Maintain clear, ongoing communication with clients, consultants, project managers, and the broader project team

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff, supporting their professional development

What You'll Bring

  • Deep experience in technical and design development, with a preference for low-density residential project types

  • Strong knowledge of building codes and the ability to apply them creatively and effectively

  • High proficiency in Revit/BIM and SketchUp

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

  • A self-motivated, reliable work ethic with the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently and within a team

  • A curiosity-driven mindset and genuine commitment to continuous growth

Qualifications

  • Licensed Architect in the State of California (required)

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture from an NAAB-accredited program

  • Must be legally authorized to work for any U.S. employer without restriction; visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • Pre-tax Flexible Spending Plan

  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)

  • 401(k)
