Class Description

The purpose of this class is to provide professional level program support services to the Center for Adjunct Faculty Engagement.

Minimum Requirements

Associates Degree and three years experience working in an office or education environment, preferably a business or higher-education setting which is customer service oriented. Bachelors degree preferred and one year of identical experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and desktop publishing software. Proven capability to manage projects independently; excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to solve problems independently are required. Prior experience writing documents for an academic audience and working in higher education is preferred. This position requires evening work hours and travel to different campuses.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  • Provide information to adjunct and full-time faculty with regard to services of the Center.
  • Assist adjunct faculty members with classroom technology, CCBC computer programs (i.e. SIMON, BlackBoard) and with other faculty needs.
  • Schedule, plan and create materials for faculty professional development activities.
  • Plan and facilitate meetings, events, and special projects related to faculty professional development.
  • Create newsletters, articles and training materials for faculty audiences.
  • Serve as liaison between the Center for Adjunct Engagement, the Office of Instruction and other CCBC offices or organizations.
  • Maintain CETL Website.
  • Oversee program administration and ensure compliance.
  • Create and maintain records and files.
  • Type letters, reports, documents and other correspondence.
  • Answer, screen and direct telephone calls and emails.
  • Compile reports, create documents, forms and correspondence.

  • Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when you open a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allows employees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdraw tax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan - 457(b) offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.
