The Project Assistant works in the Real Estate practice group under the supervision of an attorney, paralegal or experienced legal staff and performs routine billable and non-billable work that serves the firm’s clients. There is an annual billable hour requirement for this position.
Essential Responsibilities:
Prepare routine correspondence, documents, and drafts; edit and revise materials as needed, demonstrating strong proofreading skills.
Manage deal documents and related calendars to support transaction timelines and deadlines.
Organize and oversee the maintenance of electronic files using the firm’s document management system.
Assist with administrative projects under the direction of attorneys, paralegals, and other experienced legal staff.
Exercise initiative and sound judgment in completing routine assignments with minimal supervision.
Consistently maintain a high level of professionalism in all internal and external interactions.
Track and record client billable time in accordance with firm requirements and meet minimum billable hour expectations.
Prioritize and manage daily workload effectively and promptly communicate when unable to meet assigned responsibilities.
Maintain the confidentiality of firm and client information and comply with firm policies and procedures.

Exercise sound judgment and discretion in handling assignments and confidential information.

Possess excellent communication skills and interacts professionally with attorneys, staff, and clients.
Able to develop a solid understanding of the functions of the assigned department and any applicable laws, procedures, or guidelines.

Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Maintain a proactive, “can do” attitude and a commitment to ongoing learning and skill development.
Successfully self-manages and works effectively in remote, hybrid, and in-office environments.
Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team to support consistent, efficient workflows.
Ability to work overtime as needed to meet attorney and client deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential duties of the position.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a professional setting.
