Job Title: Project Assistant – SCADA, Testing & Commissioning
Location: Akron, OH
Position Type: Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Assistant – SCADA, Testing & Commissioning for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Akron, Ohio. This position will support SCADA engineering teams and field personnel to ensure the successful execution of SCADA-related testing and commissioning projects.

The ideal candidate will assist with coordinating project activities, verifying documentation, tracking project progress, and supporting field technicians during SCADA implementation and testing activities. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams, project managers, and field personnel.


Key Responsibilities

Project Collaboration

  • Collaborate with SCADA engineering teams to support successful project execution.

  • Verify project scope, work orders, change tickets, and RTU outage requests prior to scheduled SCADA testing and commissioning.

  • Identify, communicate, and assist in resolving project issues as they arise.

  • Participate in weekly project meetings and provide updates and documentation as requested.

  • Support project teams with administrative coordination and general project support tasks.

  • Perform additional project-related duties as assigned.

SCADA Project Coordination (SCADABase)

  • Verify that SCADA configurations are prepared and ready prior to scheduled field project dates.

  • Confirm that EMS upload dates occur prior to scheduled field work.

  • Coordinate with EMS testing personnel to assign testers for each SCADA job.

  • Maintain accurate job tracking and status updates within SCADABase.

  • Provide regular updates on project progress and completion status.

  • Update SCORES and Engineering Support columns as required.

  • Coordinate scheduling of field technicians to capture as-found configurations when requested by the engineering team.

  • Review and verify all contracted SCADA jobs scheduled for the upcoming week with project managers and field personnel.

Field Support

  • Request and coordinate site access for contracted SCADA technicians.

  • Assist field technicians with locating appropriate project documentation and data folders.

  • Manage Field Technician Project Reports by:

    • Creating and editing reports based on technician feedback

    • Assisting technicians with project documentation and administrative support

    • Answering questions related to project paperwork and documentation

  • Verify the submission and accuracy of project reports and maintain tracking documentation using Excel spreadsheets.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, OR

  • Associate's Degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, OR

  • Bachelor's Degree with some relevant professional experience.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting SCADA, utility, electrical, or infrastructure projects.

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.

  • Experience tracking project activities and documentation using Excel or project tracking systems.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, and project managers.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple project tasks simultaneously.
