Project-Based Teacher (Limited Term Contract)

D.C. Everest Idea School is a student-driven, project-based community serving approximately 60 students in grades 6-12. The successful candidate will be a generalist capable of supporting students in meaningful research and hands-on projects and must be willing to think beyond a time-based, course-centered paradigm. The primary tasks of a Project-Based Teacher include overseeing the educational paths of approximately 20 multi-age students, in addition to sharing administrative, guidance, maintenance, and extra-curricular duties.

CERTIFICATION

• Certified by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a Teacher at the secondary level for grades 6-12.
• Certification as a Science, Social Studies, and/or Mathematics Teacher highly preferred.
• Willingness to pursue licensure through a WI DPI approved pathway to licensure for additional subject areas.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Planning and leading advisory (activities include goal setting, tracking progress, and some school-wide curriculum focused on building process skills/school culture and special events).
• Working with students to propose, plan, and assess projects.
• Creating and leading seminars.
• Helping to lead all-school meetings/activities.
• Meeting with individual students on a weekly basis.
• Managing students' Personalized Learning Plans, goals, and progress towards meeting those goals on a weekly, 6-week, and yearlong basis.
• Managing student cross-enrollment in various curricular options.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
