Project / Business Analyst

Position Summary:

The Project / Business Analyst supports strategic and operational initiatives across Deposit Operations and Treasury Management. The role leads business analysis and project-delivery activities for deposit products, treasury services, payment operations, digital channels, vendor solutions, regulatory changes, and process improvements. Acting as the primary liaison among Operations, Treasury Management, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Finance, vendors, and business stakeholders, this position converts business needs into controlled, scalable, and customer-focused solutions.

The successful candidate combines structured project management, strong requirements discipline, banking-operations knowledge, data analysis, and practical change leadership. This individual will assess current-state processes, define future-state workflows and controls, coordinate implementation and testing, and measure results. Familiarity with automation, Microsoft Copilot, AI agents, and low-code platforms is valuable, but solutions must align with information security, model and data governance, vendor management, compliance, and operational-risk requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

• Partner with Deposit Operations, Treasury Management, Consumer / Business Banking, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and other stakeholders to define objectives, scope, customer impacts, and measurable outcomes.
• Elicit, document, validate, and maintain business, functional, operational, reporting, data, control, and regulatory requirements, including acceptance criteria and traceability.
• Analyze end-to-end workflows for deposit account servicing, ACH, wires, remote deposit capture, lockbox, positive pay, account analysis, online banking, and related treasury services.
• Facilitate discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, process walkthroughs, and requirements workshops; reconcile competing priorities and document decisions.
• Develop process maps, use cases, user stories, business requirements documents, decision logs, business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and benefit-realization measures.

Operations Automation

• Identify and prioritize opportunities for workflow automation, straight-through processing, exception reduction, AI-assisted work, and improved client and employee experiences.
• Assist with the design, testing, implementation, and monitoring of solutions using approved capabilities such as Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, AI agent frameworks, and workflow automation tools.
• Translate operational requirements into solution designs with clear roles, approvals, entitlements, segregation of duties, exception handling, audit trails, reconciliations, and escalation paths.
• Evaluate automation and AI use cases for feasibility, value, data quality, privacy, information security, regulatory compliance, model risk, and third-party risk before implementation.
• Support prompt design, knowledge-source validation, agent configuration, workflow orchestration, human review controls, and post-implementation monitoring.

Process Improvement

• Lead current-state assessment, root-cause analysis, process mapping, control review, and future-state workflow design for Deposit and Treasury Management operations.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or comparable methods to reduce manual touchpoints, errors, cycle time, operating cost, and customer friction.
• Define service levels, key performance indicators, key risk indicators, control points, capacity assumptions, and success criteria.
• Validate that redesigned processes address operational risk, fraud prevention, regulatory obligations, auditability, business continuity, and customer-impact considerations.
• Establish repeatable standards for procedures, process ownership, control evidence, issue escalation, and continuous improvement.

Project Management & Implementation

• Plan and coordinate projects from intake through stabilization, including scope, milestones, resources, dependencies, communications, readiness, and transition to operational ownership.
• Maintain project plans, requirements traceability, decisions, action items, status reporting, and change-control documentation.
• Coordinate internal teams and third-party providers; monitor commitments, deliverables, risks, testing defects, and implementation dependencies.
• Develop test strategies and scenarios; coordinate system, integration, regression, operational, and user acceptance testing; document evidence and obtain approvals.
• Support implementation planning, data conversion and reconciliation, procedures, training, communications, contingency planning, post-production validation, and lessons learned.
• Prepare concise executive reporting and escalate scope, schedule, budget, control, customer, or regulatory concerns promptly.

Data & Insights

• Analyze transactions, exception, service, revenue, loss, quality, and customer-impact data to identify trends, risks, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop dashboards and management reporting that provide clear definitions, reliable sources, ownership, and actionable insights.
• Establish baseline measures and track adoption, efficiency, quality, risk reduction, customer outcomes, and realized financial benefits after implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, information systems, operations, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Five or more years of progressive experience in business analysis, project management, banking operations, treasury management, payments, or financial-services technology.
• Working knowledge of deposit and treasury products, transaction processing, reconciliations, entitlements, fraud controls, customer onboarding and servicing, and regulatory or audit expectations.
• Demonstrated ability to produce requirements, process maps, project plans, test documentation, procedures, management reporting, and executive-ready communications.
• Strong facilitation, analytical, organizational, written communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and data or workflow tools; experience with core banking, digital banking, treasury platforms, Power BI, Power Platform, or similar solutions is preferred.
• CBAP, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, CTP, AAP, or comparable certification is preferred.
