Quanta, the largest civil construction work force in North America focused on the Power Generation and Transmission Sector, is meeting the nation's energy, utility, and communication needs head on. QISG is seeking project civil engineering professionals interested in working to support large-scale engineering and construction projects throughout North America by providing civil site design solutions to our construction partners and clients.This role will design civil site, access, and drainage systems for large-scale energy substation and transmission projects using design-build delivery methods, working within a multi-disciplinary in-house team across civil, structural, geotechnical, and construction management disciplines. Core responsibilities include site layout, grading, stormwater analysis, permitting support, survey coordination, construction inspections, and production of construction drawings and specifications — all from an office-based setting using sound engineering judgment and digital tools to develop cost-effective solutions. The role offers mentorship from senior engineers while also mentoring junior staff, with growing leadership responsibilities to keep projects on scope, schedule, and budget.What You'll DoExecute assignments requiring application of standard and advanced engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out civil engineering tasks.Develop civil construction specifications, assist in development of cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules.Support of substation and transmission line physical design consisting of layout, conduit, grounding, site and work pad development, and erosion and sediment control.Perform basic stormwater calculations to size culverts, ditches, and stormwater retention/detention facilities using stormwater modeling software.Interface closely with project-level and senior leadership personnel within the company, including geotechnical, geological, structural, transmission line, substation, and civil engineering, GIS, and construction management team members.Participate in oversight and management of subcontractor activities involved in drainage and grading designs and/or operations.Develop written reports and/or provide verbal communication of information in a professional and appropriate manner.Perform occasional site visits to project sites located throughout North America.Participation in sector focused professional organizations, and attendance and presentations at industry events.Work under supervision of Engineering Director and/or a Senior Engineer in a professional office setting.What You'll BringBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related fieldProfessional Engineer (P.E.) licensureMinimum five (5) years of civil design experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3DProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and TeamsAbility to work with moderate supervision and maximum efficiency in a small or medium size office settingExperience in electric utility design (substation and transmission line - 15 kV to 500 kV)MicroStation Inroads design experienceWhat You'll GetCompetitive Compensation401(k) Retirement PlanHoliday PayPaid Time Off (PTO)Comprehensive Health CoveragePet InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Professional DevelopmentTuition AssistanceEmployee Discount ProgramCompensation RangeThe anticipated compensation for this position is USD $159,900.00/Yr. - USD $208,900.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.Equal Opportunity EmployerAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
