The Project Controller, under the direction of the Director of Finance, serves as a central leader in the McClure Finance Department. This role works closely with the Project Management team to ensure projects stay within budget and get delivered on time. The Project Controller additionally oversees project flow, advises team members on spending, and supports, trains, and develops the Project Accountants.

Essential Functions
  • Oversee and manage both the service and construction project accounting groups
  • Manage the weekly subcontractor payment process and selection
  • Process month end job cost entries and move into the general ledger
  • Update and load project status reports for month end
  • Assist with accounting review of contracts for new projects
  • Manage monthly OCIP / CCIP reporting and associated entries
  • Coordinate monthly AR meetings for both the service and construction accounting groups
  • Attend and coordinate monthly high-risk WIP review meetings
  • Assist with training and documentation of project accounting procedures
  • Research and implement processes and system modifications to gain efficiency within the project accounting group
  • Review and oversight of the tool tracking process
  • Strive to enhance cross-functional training among the project accounting group
  • Mentor, train, and develop staff members
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other relevant discipline required
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in a construction accounting role required
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship. Position is full-time Monday – Friday and is not a remote work position.
