Join Hitachi Energy as a Project Financial Controller and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial success of our projects. In this dynamic position, you'll partner with project managers and stakeholders to ensure projects run efficiently and profitably. How You'll Make an Impact

  • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Monitor expenditures, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare and analyze financial performance reports, including earned value analysis.
  • Manage invoicing, revenue recognition, and cash flow for projects.
  • Support project managers with data-driven financial insights.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate across departments to align financial objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement of project control processes and tools.
  • Assure compliance and enforcement of Business Unit Transformers specific finance directives and instructions, including the Group Accounting and Reporting Guidelines.
  • Identify risks and assure proper risk management procedures including SOX controls are adequate and effective.
  • Support in strategic planning and implementation of agreed to programs and plans.
  • Review routine actual cost vs plan on a project by project basis.
  • Support the Local Product Group (LPG) in budgeting and implementation of agreed to programs and plans to achieve these budgets.
  • Assist with system (Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) support system) utilization and enhancements.
  • Serve as a Consultant and Advisor to General Manager and Management Team Members.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and assure implementation and use to improve business performance.
  • Perform analysis and reviews of proposals, performances, and actions within the BU, and recommend next steps.
  • Assure proper financial reporting as required for the business.
  • Push continuous improvements and cost reductions.
  • Ensure coordination and cooperation with shared service centers.
  • Follow and perform duties in accordance with the Hitachi Energy Code of Conduct

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with 2 to 5 years of experience OR Master's degree with 2+ years in a multinational environment.

  • Strong knowledge of financial functions in engineering/manufacturing industries.

  • Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and planning skills.

  • Familiarity with SAP Project Module.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Professional certifications (CPA, CMA, CPIM) or MBA preferred.
