Job Summary

This position supports the Nuclear Development project and team by providing schedule and cost development, analysis, reporting, and communications as part of the Nuclear Development organization. The role plays a critical part in project monitoring, risk identification, and accurate costing.

Responsibilities include coordinating, tracking, and executing project estimates; providing technical direction, guidance, and support to project managers using established tools and processes for developing project scope, detailed project schedules, and cost estimates; performing detailed project analysis and control activities; and monitoring and reporting project schedule, scope, and cost changes to project managers and New Nuclear management in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities

Principal Accountabilities

Provide financial guidance and analytical support within the Budgets Department. 
Prepare budget-to-actual reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, reconciliations of contingency balances, and project reporting. 
Support special projects, including budgeting and monitoring labor-related costs, employee benefits, and overhead allocations. 
Utilize system-generated reporting tools including: 
Online journal entries 
General Ledger 
Microsoft Power BI 
Budget inputs 
Perform ad hoc reporting and complex budgetary analysis to identify trends and explain variances. 
Support the annual budget cycle. 
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. 
Help prepare and update budget policies, procedures, desk manuals, and training materials. 
Apply accounting and budgeting principles gained through education and experience. 
Understand and apply Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements.
Interface with internal managers, supervisors, and external agencies

  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology.
  • Project Controls experience.
  • Detail variance analysis.
  • Working knowledge of:

  • Primavera P6
  • Working knowledge of professional project management principles.
  • Knowledge of project reporting and project cost analysis.

  • Comfortable presenting to groups.

Education & Experience Requirements

Project Controls Professional I

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of project controls/project management experience in an industrial environment; OR 
Associate (AA) degree and six (6) years of project controls/project management experience; OR 
High School Diploma/GED and eight (8) years of project controls/project management experience in lieu of a degree. 
Required Training

Formal training on Primavera P6 or another project management system. 
 
Project Controls Professional II

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of project controls/project management experience in an industrial environment; OR 
Associate (AA) degree and seven (7) years of project controls/project management experience; OR 
High School Diploma/GED and nine (9) years of project controls/project management experience in lieu of a degree. 
Required Training

Formal training on Primavera P6 or another project management system. 
 
Project Controls Professional III

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of project controls/project management experience in an industrial environment; OR 
Associate (AA) degree and nine (9) years of project controls/project management experience; OR 
High School Diploma/GED and eleven (11) years of project controls/project management experience in lieu of a degree. 
Required Training

Formal training on Primavera P6 or another project management system.
