Project Controls Specialist (Long-Term Contract)
Glen Allen, VA

We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support a long-term contract opportunity in Glen Allen, VA. This role is responsible for leading project controls processes and partnering with the project management team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project controls processes across multiple projects
  • Set up and maintain projects in Enterprise Planning & Controls software
  • Analyze data, review logs, and generate reports
  • Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
  • Create and maintain schedules, cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Support engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, and cost control
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical project controls questions
  • Review and approve purchase orders and subcontracts for proper coding
  • Track and document changes to cost reports and forecasts
  • Partner with project management and accounting to review project and contingency costs
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Review and manage change orders (prime contracts and subcontracts)
  • Develop and present cash flow reports
  • Build and maintain project schedules, including logic ties and resource loading
  • Support Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM)
  • Generate schedule and cost reports and tailor reporting formats as needed
  • Analyze critical path, forecasting, and schedule performance
  • Perform schedule "what-if scenario analysis
  • Develop and maintain Earned Value Management (EVM) systems
  • Track progress and maintain progress curves
  • Perform material takeoffs
  • Conduct quality checks on project controls deliverables
  • Perform field audits to validate reporting accuracy
  • Assist with project forensic analysis

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3+ years of project controls experience
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, cost control, and forecasting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • OSHA 10-hour certification (or ability to obtain)
