Description:
The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for the planning, scheduling, and budgeting of construction projects.
They will work with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders tdevelop project plans, track progress, and identify and mitigate risks.
They will alsprepare reports and presentations tkeep stakeholders informed of project status.
This is a challenging and rewarding job that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
Cost Control
Develop and manage project budgets and cost baselines
Monitor actual costs vs planned costs
Forecast estimate tcompletion (EAC)
Track commitments, Invoices and accruals
Identify cost overruns and savings opportunities
Progress Measurement and Reporting
Track physical progress of Engineering, procurement and construction
Earned value management and reporting (EVM)
Prepare and manage KPI dashboards for management
Weekly/monthly progress reports
Variance analysis (schedule and cost
Change Management
Evaluate impact of scope changes on cost and schedule
Maintain change logs and approvals
Assess claims and variations
Update baseline when approved
Risk Management
Identify project risks: commercial and schedule
Quantitative risk analysis
Develop mitigation plans
Maintain risk register
Contract and Commercial support
Support procurement and contract strategy
Monitor project/contractor commercial performance
Evaluate contractor claims
Payment milestone verification
Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years of related experience in the Oil and Gas Construction industry
Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or a related field is required
The project duration is estimated tbe from July 2026 through June 2027. The successful candidate will be expected tspend 2-3 days per week at the site in Sabine Pass, with the balance of time either working from home or at a office in Beaumont.
Part time (20-30 hours/week) will be considered if the candidate prefers.
