Summary:Under general supervision, forecasts project cash flows, prepares budgets and maintains documentation for utility capital projects to ensure funding is allocated and tracked properly. Work requires working knowledge of the methods, best practices, procedures, processes and techniques of project cost development, analysis, tracking and forecasting. Regular contact with project stakeholders, management and various department representatives at all organizational levels is required to obtain, clarify or provide facts and information.
Responsibilities:
Experienced in processing, tracking, and reporting capital work orders, project costs, and capital budget items to support financial management and reporting activities. Skilled in performing cost development, project budgeting, and cash flow forecasting while providing accurate cost information for planning and control purposes. Adept at analyzing, planning, and coordinating project schedules using cost data and man-hour estimates, as well as forecasting potential budget overruns or underruns to ensure efficient utilization and allocation of available funds. Proficient in developing and maintaining spreadsheets, databases, and other computerized systems related to project costs, while supporting and applying cost and project budget programs. Experienced in assisting with reimbursable billing from partner agencies and preparing asset cost data during project closeout activities.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of the principles, standards, best practices, and techniques of cost development, project budgeting, and cash flow forecasting used in the utility industry, as well as utility construction activities to ensure proper coding and activity-based cost accounting methods. Skilled in forecasting, tracking, and reporting project costs for budget control purposes, collecting, analyzing, and reporting historical data to support planning new projects, analyzing costs and budget variances, managing multiple work tasks, and using Microsoft Excel. Ability to read, comprehend, and apply technical information; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization.
Requirements:
Other: Employees assigned to driving duties ("drivers") must have a current, valid US State driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Keville's driving policy. OSHA 10 certification is a condition of employment.
Daily on-site presence is required, with occasional evening or weekend work during critical project phases or to meet project deadlines.
