Position Location:

This position is located at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility, New Orleans, Louisiana.

Job Overview:

Nova Space Solutions (NSS) is seeking a Project Controls candidate to join our Engineering Services Department team at NASA Michoud Assembly Facility, Louisiana. The ideal candidate is responsible for planning, resource management, and scheduling of all work on the COSMIC contract. Participates in cross-functional team meetings to develop scope delivery and coordinates across multiple disciplines to achieve the plans. Designs project/program/core requirements schedules of data in all project life cycles. Schedules and maintains knowledge of all key project milestones. Administers projects from conceptualization to implementation and evaluate all issues.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Duties:

  • Develop, monitor, and update integrated project plans and schedules so projects can be executed in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Prepare baseline schedules and schedule basis documents for approval by project teams and integration into the master schedule.
  • Assess impacts to the critical path and near-critical activities, reporting findings to the project team.
  • Monitor schedule deviations and variances and assist in developing corrective action plans.
  • Analyze change orders and Task Order revisions for cost and schedule impacts.
  • Resource-load schedules and work with Project Managers to update project status and verify physical progress through jobsite walks, as needed.
  • Prepare Cost Status Reports (CSRs) and update them throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Report labor and project costs in collaboration with Project Management and Accounting to support accrual and month-end reporting.
  • Prepare project closeout documentation to capture historical project data upon project completion.
  • Maintain a basic knowledge and understanding of Maximo workflow.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accurate project schedules that support contract performance and customer requirements.
  • Monitor project performance and identify schedule risks, delays, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support Project Managers through planning, scheduling, cost tracking, and resource allocation activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate project reporting and schedule performance.
  • Support successful project execution through effective planning, communication, and schedule management.
Job Requirements:

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience as a Project Planner/Scheduler.
  • Experience with tactical and strategic planning.
  • Experience using Project Management software.
  • Experience developing and publishing project schedules and resource allocation schedules.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard business software.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required NASA site access and credentials.
  • Ability to pass required background screening and drug testing.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Federal and NASA regulations and procedures.
  • Experience with Maximo.
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information and communications.
  • Experience preparing and presenting project information to diverse audiences.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment with occasional visits to project sites.
  • Frequent interaction with Project Managers, Engineering, Operations, Accounting, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Occasional jobsite walks may be required to verify project progress.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and navigate project sites as needed.
