Our client is seeking a Project Coordinator to join their growing team in Wayne, NJ, supporting public-sector construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This individual will work closely with project management and field teams to help coordinate schedules, documentation, subcontractors, and project execution across multiple active construction projects.

Our client is a well-established General Contractor that has been successfully delivering public-sector construction projects throughout New Jersey since the early 2000s. With a tight-knit team and a strong pipeline of upcoming work, the company specializes in projects ranging from $1M-$10M, including schools, municipal buildings, libraries, and public parks.
The immediate focus for this hire will be supporting a police station renovation project within a municipal building, while also assisting with other public construction projects throughout the region. Description
- Project Coordination: Support Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination activities
- Documenation: Maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project correspondence
- Team Leadership: Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, owners, architects, and field personnel to ensure project milestones are met
- Schedule Management: Assist with project scheduling and monitor progress against established timelines
- Quality Control: Conduct site visits to monitor progress and support field operations as needed
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and public-sector regulations
Profile
- Minimum of 3 years of construction industry experience
- Previous experience as a Project Coordinator, Assistant Project Manager, Field Engineer, or similar construction role
- Experience working for a General Contractor is required
- Exposure to both office and field operations is strongly preferred. Public-sector project experience preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Team player who thrives in a collaborative, small-company environment
