The University of New England is seeking a Temporary Project Coordinator to support the AgingME Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) from June 23, 2026, through November 18, 2026. This part-time position is scheduled for 16 hours per week, typically Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some flexibility in scheduling. The role will be based on UNE's Portland Campus, with remote work options available and negotiable.

The Project Coordinator will provide administrative and programmatic support to meet the operational needs of the program. Working closely with the Program Manager, this individual will assist with day-to-day coordination activities, manage specific administrative responsibilities, and help ensure the successful implementation of program initiatives and objectives. This temporary position offers an opportunity to contribute to initiatives focused on strengthening the geriatrics workforce and improving care for older adults.

The anticipated hourly rate of pay for this position is $20.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with organizing, scheduling, and coordinating meetings and events, while facilitating clear communication among multiple partners, internal team members, and other key stakeholders.
  • Support invoice processing and partner payments; manage purchase card expenses; process purchase orders; and prepare business office vouchers in accordance with University procedures.
  • Coordinate and process approvals for GWEP-related staff travel through UNE's internal approval and reimbursement systems.
  • Maintain accurate program records, tracking documents, activity logs, and other required documentation.
  • Perform a variety of day-to-day administrative functions to support efficient program operations.
  • Complete additional program-related responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated administrative, customer service, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with a range of individuals both within and outside the University.
  • Strong written, verbal, and digital communication skills, including a high level of proficiency in spelling, grammar, and professional correspondence.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a productive, cooperative, and collaborative member of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Google Workspace applications, including Drive, Docs, and Sheets.
