General Description

JOIN OUR TEAM AS A PROJECT COORDINATOR

This position is to assist and provide support for the Library Services Department in the coordination and implementation of various work projects in the field including, but not limited to, monitoring and management of contracts and contracted services, acts as a liaison between field and administrative groups within the department and coordinating Branches.

Essential Job Functions

Works within the department to facilitate projects. Analyzes, interprets, and reports on work projects. Enters data or information into a terminal PC or other keyboard device. Demonstrates seamless customer service, integrity and commitment to innovation; efficiency; and fiscally responsible activity. Coordinates work schedules, documents work performed, inspects for accuracy, monitors/enforces regulatory provisions for various agencies (SWFWMD, FDEP, etc). Examines bid specifications for areas of improvement. Performs related work as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
  • Ability to read for comprehension.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with county personnel, field personnel, vendors, outside agencies and the general public.
  • Ability to operate a County vehicle.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer with typing skills to include using Microsoft Office Products (i.e. Word, Excel), etc.
  • Ability to establish and maintain files.
  • Ability to make mathematical calculations accurately.
  • Ability to enforce and work within tight time deadlines.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and write reports when requested.
  • Knowledge of the overall functions and operations of the unit to which assigned.
  • Ability to make decisions in accordance with the departmental rules, regulations and policies.

Minimum Requirements

PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively verbal, written and visual communication. Ability to operator a motor vehicle. Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time. Ability to bend, stoop or squat frequently. Physical ability to work out-of-doors as required.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate degree OR possession of high school diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience, which includes one (1) year as a Project Coordinator. Experience with contracts and services preferred.

In House Candidates: This position qualifies for DAP.
