    Job Description:

    The Project Coordinator will join a vibrant, dynamic team to manage the day-to-day operations and administrative support for high-impact public health research studies. The coordinator will prioritize tasks effectively and manage time thoughtfully across multiple projects to ensure research seamlessly progresses. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine enthusiasm for conducting meaningful research that directly impacts human health, particularly in the areas of aging, dementia, and long-term care.

    Nurturing and sustaining relationships and communication with colleagues across various departments and units within Brown University, with external academic institutions, and with external non-academic organizations is essential for this role. The coordinator will facilitate seamless communication, information exchange, and workflow among all internal and external team members. They will participate in calendar management and scheduling as well as lead creation and dissemination of meeting minutes.

    The Project Coordinator will draft, revise, and manage key academic and regulatory documentation. Responsibilities include preparing progress reports, scientific manuscript submissions, conference presentations, and research grant or contract proposals. Additionally, the coordinator will handle Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Data Use Agreement (DUA) applications or amendments. Because this position regularly handles human subject data and other confidential materials, it requires a high degree of independent judgment, discretion, and proactive action.

    This is a fixed term position with a current end date of 09/30/2027, which may be extended based upon available funding.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience

    Job Competencies

    Required:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and time management capabilities.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workplace (Calendar, Drive and Chat).
    • Proficiency with teleconferencing software (e.g., Zoom) and adept collaboration with remote colleagues.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, and independently problem solve while maintaining attention to detail.
    • Ability to work both independently and as a research team member.
    • Professionalism in interactions with collaborators, colleagues, students, and research participants.
    • Interest in public health, healthcare, medicine, pharmacy, or related fields - preferred, but not required.
    • Experience with website design, blog post composition, and/or crafting concise news releases - preferred but not required .
