    Description

    Cost Accounting Manager

    Cost Accounting Manager responsibilities include:

    • Prepares project work in progress schedules and reports
    • Confers with estimators, team members and Regional Accounting staff on changes and adjustments to cost estimates and budgets
    • Prepares projections used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work
    • Prepares cost and expenditure statements
    • Assesses cost effectiveness of products, projects or services
    • Tracks actual costs relative to bids as the project develops
    • Sets up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
    • Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction
    • Analyzes and recaps monthly financial data

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of five years job costing or process costing experience working in a construction environment or related field as well as 1-3 years supervisory experience
    • Strong communication skills
    • Ability to lead and motivate others
    • Experience managing change across an organization
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Ability to collaborate with a multi-department, multi-location team
    • Thorough current knowledge of financial and accounting practices and procedures
    • Ability and willingness to travel
    • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
