The Cross Carline and Project Engineering Team is a critical part of the vehicle development with responsibly to ensure overall program level feasibility and target setting. The Economics Manager is responsible for managing cost development (cost loops and assessments) for programs from the Pre-Contract Commitment Milestone through Start of Production and potentially the end of life for a vehicle program. The Manager will own the target development process to ensure total production cost and supplier tooling costs are complete and rational to support the business case. The Manager will work with multiple cross functional organizations and all levels of management from senior executives to product design and release engineers.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Understand and apply reference vehicle data and design to cost savings to EBOM component level data
Understanding of vehicle construction by systems (Body, Chassis, Powertrain, Interior, etc) and subsystems (Underbody, suspension, trim, cooling, HVAC, etc)
Understand part break up of vehicles and how they are assembled
Ability to identify and organize technical commodities into their functional purpose
Identify and propose design alternatives to meet and exceed aggressive cost targets
Lead cross functional team reviews of cost status to target, component sourcing, governance cost report outs

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or Bachelor of Science degree in Finance
10 years of overall experience
8 years of Automotive Industry experience
Excellent leadership communications / people skills Attention to detail
Able to manage change and present ideas / concepts to all levels of management
Able to motivate and lead people that do not report directly to you
MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
Program lifecycle experience
Experience in Vehicle Cost Engineering, Vehicle Finance, or Component Cost Analysis
Experience in various BICEEP discipline
