Technical Program Manager Data Platform & Security

Role Summary
We're looking for a Technical Program Manager to lead a small, high-visibility team through two concurrent workstreams: a reporting platform migration and the buildout of a new security response practice. This is a hands-on, fluid role. The person will work directly with the team to translate priorities into a clear delivery plan, ensuring work is well defined, organized and ready for execution. Success depends on someone who can move fluidly between coordinating people, running process, and getting into the details of the backlog itself.
This role provides day-to-day delivery leadership for a three person core team consisting of this role, a Software Engineer, and a DevOps Engineer. This group will work together own a shared system health backlog.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Migration Leadership
+ Lead a Software Engineer and a DevOps Engineer through migrating reporting from Splunk to Snowflake + Sigma.
+ Own delivery planning and backlog management for the workstream, creating, refining and prioritizing stories and epics to ensure the work is clearly defined, appropriately sequenced and ready for execution.
+ Represent the team in broader planning forums, aligning with product teams and technical managers for regular sprint planning activities.
+ Communicate progress, risks, and timelines to stakeholders.
+ Coordinate testing across the migration, including interfacing with quality engineers, managing developers who are testing, and testing directly when needed.
Security Practice Leadership
+ Stand up and run a repeatable process for monitoring security reports and turning CVEs into a prioritized backlog of user stories.
+ Serve as the primary liaison to the Enterprise Security team, clarifying protocols and expectations.
+ Coordinate delivery of security remediation work and communicate status to stakeholders.
+ Partner with developers to get security-related stories written and ready for sprint.
+ Align necessary regression efforts tied to security fixes across the team, and assist with testing directly as capacity requires.
Team Delivery Leadership & Backlog Management
+ Act as the day-to-day lead for a three-person core team, managing a shared system health backlog spanning both workstreams above.
+ Maintain a reliable, transparent backlog and delivery plan in Jira, ensuring priorities, work items, sprint commitments, and statuses are current and clearly represented.
+ Expect the shape of this role to shift week to week depending on depending on delivery needs; comfort moving between planning, stakeholder communication, backlog refinement, issue resolution, and hands on team support is essential.
Qualifications
+ 4 7 years of experience in technical program management, delivery management, or a similar hybrid PM/technical coordination role.
+ Strong hands-on proficiency in Jira, including writing and refining stories, managing and prioritizing backlogs, tracking delivery progress, and supporting sprint planning and reporting.
+ Experience partnering directly with engineers (software and DevOps/infrastructure) to translate technical work into a well-organized, prioritized backlog.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort running stakeholder updates and translating technical detail for non-technical audiences.
+ Experience coordinating QA and testing efforts, including working with quality engineers and technical staff.
+ Comfort operating in ambiguity: this role's scope and daily focus will shift as priorities change.
Nice to Have
+ Familiarity with data platform or reporting migrations (e.g., Splunk, Snowflake, Sigma, or similar tools).
+ Exposure to security vulnerability management, such as CVE triage, or experience working with enterprise security teams.
+ Prior experience building a new process from scratch rather than only running an existing one.
