Project Development Manager

We are X-ELIO, a Brookfield-owned company and a global leader in the renewable energy sector; with over 3 GW of renewable projects (solar/BESS) built, we currently operate in 12 countries and have a development pipeline of 12 GW of solar and 14 GW of BESS capacity, and we are looking for you!

Based in: Washington D.C., USA

The selected professional will lead and coordinate the development, permitting, interconnection, and feasibility of utility-scale solar and BESS projects across U.S., guiding teams and stakeholders to ensure projects meet technical, regulatory, and budgetary objectives.

What will you do?

• Manage project and portfolio level entitlement, interconnection and permitting efforts in defined markets, adhering to approved schedules and budgets for assigned utility scale solar and BESS projects from project signing through Commercial Operations.
• Work with X-ELIO's cross functional teams to optimize project location and design.
• Make recommendations on ways to overcome environmental, permit or interconnection constraints.
• Ensure that all programmatic and interconnection needs are met for Solar and BESS projects across assigned markets.
• Coordinate with X-ELIO's engineering, procurement and construction teams to ensure the project's budget and timeline are met as it relates to interconnection and any discretionary permitting required.
• Evaluate technical and economic feasibility of proposed projects at various stages of development, including both utility solar and battery energy storage systems.
• Concisely communicate to X-ELIO leadership of development risks and recommend mitigation strategies for pipelineand pr oject leads.
• Manage and guide junior project developers, providing guidance and suggestions to help overcome their project challenges.
• Monitor and evaluate clean energy trends and policies in order to communicate recommendations on strategic development to X-ELIO leadership.
• Establish and foster key relationships with local permitting authorities, utilities, community members and other third- party solar developers.
• Manage third-party contracts with X-ELIO's technical, environmental, and interconnection consultants in support of project development efforts.

What do we need?

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Planning, Engineering, Real Estate, Finance or similar fields.
• 5 years of project development experience - renewable energy & solar preferred
• Effective computer skills including GIS, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of GIS is a strong plus
• Willing to travel up to 25% of the time
• A valid driving license and passport
