The C-17 Avionics and Development team is currently looking for an Experienced Staff Engineer to join their team in Long Beach, CA. This organization supports C-17 Program, the world's premier military airlift capability.

We are looking for an experienced Staff Engineer to support the Avionics and Development IPT Director and Leadership team. This position will provide leadership, strategy and execution of team goals. You will integrate and coordinate efforts independently within the team and across the broader organization. The purpose of this role will be to bridge the gap between strategic business goals, tactical execution and overarching technical objectives. You will be responsible for cross-team integration, complex problem solving, communicating (up, down and across), presenting, and mentoring junior teammates. You are accountable for stakeholder/customer happiness and success.

Required Skills:
•10+ years of experience with leading complex technical, strategic and organizational projects
•Experience with development projects through all phases of Hardware and Software development, test and qualification
•Strong ability to influence, collaborate and communicate
•Critical analysis and problem solving skills across system, hardware and software architectures

•Preferred Skills:
•Military aircraft program experience
•USG, Aerospace and/or DoD/DoW projects
•Experience working within a matrixed reporting organization
•Familiar with PMBOK concepts and their practical applications, including EVMS
•Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
•Strong leadership, team building and mentoring skills

Education / Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years'related work experience (e.G. PhD+9 years'related work experience, Master+12 years'related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
