Selectek is looking for a motivated
Civil Project Engineer I with a
Professional Engineer (PE) license and experience in commercial, retail, and residential site development projects. This role will support the planning, design, permitting, and construction administration of land development projects while collaborating with project managers, clients, municipalities, and multidisciplinary design teams.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical design skills, a solid understanding of site development principles, and the ability to manage project tasks from concept through construction.
Responsibilities:
Routinely produces accurate and actionable professional design of subdivisions, grading plans, earthwork volumes and storm drainage calculations, design of utilities, including storm and sanitary sewers, paving, watermain, waterlines, waterline sizing, and street improvements.
- Proficiently utilizes Civil 3D, HydroCAD, WinSlamm, and other applicable software programs for design application, analyzation, and preparation.
- Research and apply code requirements and standard design procedure manuals.
- Complete and verify design computations/calculations and plan detailing for conformance with codes, manuals, and design considerations.
- Prepare opinions of cost, quantities, periodic reports, pay estimates, and data necessary to document acceptability of materials and quantities for final payment.
- Attend internal project team and external client/jurisdictional authorities meetings with a Sr. Project Manager
- Assist SR. Project Engineers in preparing project proposal scope, fees, and additional service requests.
- Assist Sr. Project Team members to track project scope and support project profitability by assisting and managing internal project team members time and task delegation.
- Lead staff through task delegation and oversight of project work including preparing quantity take-offs, bid tabs, opinion of probable cost estimates and other related bidding documents.
- Provide mentorship, technical assistance, training, and oversight to peers/junior staff engineers as needed.
- Perform peer-to-peer QA/QC of design plans, calculations, storm water management design and documents as a cursory review during formal QA/QC process.
- Effectively and respectfully communicate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate to project.

Required:
· Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
· Active
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
· 3+ years of civil engineering experience in
commercial, retail, and residential site development.
· Proficiency with:
- AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Stormwater modeling software (HydroCAD, Hydraflow, PondPack, or similar)
- Microsoft Office Suite
· Experience preparing grading, drainage, utility, and site layout plans.
· Knowledge of municipal development regulations and permitting processes.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Valid Licensure:- Professional Engineer Minnesota
- Must have Valid Drivers License
Preferred: · Experience working with developers, municipalities, and landowners.
· Familiarity with GIS software.
· Experience in construction administration and site inspections.
· Knowledge of state and local stormwater regulations.
· Project management experience on multiple concurrent projects

Salary range: $75,000 - $87,000 annual salary
Hours and shift: 1st shift/ onsite only
