Key Project Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering required.
- 2-4 years of engineering experience supporting projects in power generation, utilities, industrial, construction, manufacturing, or related environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project Professional.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive and engaged communicator with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal and external project stakeholders.
Job Summary:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer to support capital upgrade projects at a power generation facility in Maryland. This position will assist with project execution, schedule management, technical documentation, and coordination activities to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project requirements. The Project Engineer will work closely with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and site personnel and must be proactive in communicating project status, issues, and required follow-up.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and execution of assigned projects.
- Assist with managing project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Help define, track, and control project scope and action items.
- Prepare, review, and coordinate technical specifications, bid packages, and project documentation.
- Maintain project files, drawings, submittals, reports, and correspondence through effective document control practices.
- Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to support project progress.
- Track project issues, changes, and follow-up actions to ensure timely resolution.
- Prepare meeting agendas, notes, and action item logs.
- Monitor project documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
- Provide field support and site coordination activities as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and project activities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project Professional.
- Familiarity with technical drawings, specifications, and bid packages.
- Experience with project scheduling, project controls, or document management systems preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, contractors, vendors, and external partners.
- Proactive approach to communication, follow-up, and coordination with project personnel.
- Willingness to work in both office and industrial plant environments.
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering required.
- 2-4 years of engineering experience in project engineering, project coordination, construction, manufacturing, utilities, or related industries.
- Experience supporting engineering or capital projects required.
- Experience supporting power generation, industrial, utility, or capital projects is preferred.
- EIT certification is a plus
Compensation:
The hourly pay range for this position is $50-$60 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
