Superior is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Broussard, LA (On-Site).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- In-House Technical Support of Operations, Procurement, QA/QC.
- Execution and presentation of WSI Drill String, Landing String, and Slip Crushing Designs, including all project updates requested, for customers and tender packages, as identified.
- Manage technical support of accessory equipment with rating spec sheets and engineering drawings.
- Manage the upkeep of engineering technical documents, data bases, etc.
- Technical support for high-end equipment within Workstrings and dealing with the OEM.
- Modification of equipment or redesign of products or services.
- Promote WSI engineering services and solutions in conjunction with WSI business development and personnel via meetings with operators and presentations.
- Continuously strive to enhance customer relationships and develop new customers where applicable
- Provide customers with technical support regarding their design projects; DWOP, CWOP, etc.
- Provide customers with technical support of standard equipment and specialty designed equipment.
- Provide in-house technical support of WSI Operations, QA/QC, Procurement, Business Development, and others as identified, and promote a team relationship.
- Support WSI Engineering Team with tech support; equipment ratings, tool drawings, approvals, etc.
- Support WSI business development and clients with engineering options and tubular recommendations based on specific well criteria.
- Consult with clients to ascertain and define need or problem areas and determine scope of investigation required to obtain solution.
- Advises client on alternate methods of solving need or problem or recommends specific solution.
- Development of engineering tools to improve support of Engineering, Operations, QA/QC, Procurement, Business Development, customers, and assets.
- Involved with new product development.
- Installation of alternate methods and procedures.
- Changes in processing methods and practices.
- Provide technical presentations as required.
- Assist in special engineering projects in-house and for WSI customers.
- Communicate potential new upcoming projects to management and other sales staff.
- Communicate design information to appropriate marketing and operations personnel on pending known orders to ensure good communication to all departments.
- Recommend new assets or services to make available for customers.
- Educate and enhance the level of knowledge of WSI personnel on tubulars, connections, drill string design and engineering solutions.
- Up-keep of engineering technical documents, data bases, and intranet engineering site.
- Design and Approved Engineered drawings.
- Entertain as identified.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Ability to use critical thinking skills and analyze engineering project data; prepare quality drawings, engineering technical documents, reports and solutions based on limiting parameters and available asset inventory.
- Knowledge in Torque and Drag, and Hydraulics Modeling.
- Knowledge in Landing String Design.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling and CAD software, such as SolidWorks, etc.
- Proficient in Excel, Power Point, Word, and VBA.
- Ability to present customers with case histories and technical information using presentations.
- Ability to present internal and external customers with technical information using presentations.
- Knowledge of drilling and completion processes and required equipment.
- Knowledge of drilling rigs and equipment, and their capabilities.
- Knowledge of tubulars and connections.
- Knowledge of tubular manufacturing process.
- Knowledge of Operations, QA/QC, and Procurement Departments’ processes.
- Excellent command of English – speaking, reading, technical writing.

EDUCTION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a four‐year college or university required. Additionally, a minimum of 3
years of experience in the design, project management and/or implementation of equipment (preferably in the oil
and gas industry) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Project Management training or
experience preferred.
