We offer comprehensive benefits packages to eligible employees, including competitive pay, medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, and additional performance incentives.Compensation$80000 - $95000 / yearPosition SummaryThe Project Engineer plans, develops, manages, and coordinates activities for construction projects.ResponsibilitiesManages project field activities to ensure they comply with company and contract requirements and support overall construction scheduleSupports the development, updating, and approval of construction schedulesProvides technical support for construction efforts including design interpretation, application of construction methods, resolution and documentation of design conflicts and constructability reviewsInterfaces with all on-site departments to resolve problems and to ensure quality of construction, project safety, and adherence to project specifications, in support of overall project scheduleSupervises field layout and surveying activitiesObserves workflow, anticipates any potential schedule changes, and coordinates with superintendents on delivery of materials and staying on scheduleReviews change order drawings and specifications; develops, tracks, and negotiates proposals and change ordersAssists with take-offs, requests for pricing, project set up, quality control, design reviews and other related tasksReviews, analyzes, and resolves field construction problems and discrepanciesAdvises the Project Manager of serious schedule conflicts and problems, and works with field supervision to resolve schedule conflictsAnalyzes permanent material requirements, solicits quotations, and prepares formal purchase agreementsDevelops requirements for specialized equipment and works with vendors to obtain customized equipment.Supports/assists with monitoring and forecasting of project costs and revenues; assists with development of new methods to improve costsDevelops, implements, and administers project procedures and other project control documentsAssists the project manager with business correspondence, billing, and financial reporting.QualificationsA minimum of 3 years of construction industry experienceBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction or Project Management; an advanced degree is a plus (In lieu of a degree, extensive experience in the military, railroad/construction, or related field will be considered)Solid knowledge of surveying, equipment applications is essentialAbility to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructionsAbility to read and comprehend plans and specifications, and to comprehend and recognize safety standards and issuesKnowledge of general contract and subcontract documentsStrong verbal, written communication, and presentation skillsThe ability to effectively interact with both customers and fellow employeesThe ability to work independently as well as operate successfully as part of a collaborative teamThe ability to successfully execute decisionsThe ability to grasp facts, processes, and procedures quickly in a rapidly changing environmentThe ability to identify and meet project deadlinesProficiency with Microsoft Office suite.Physical RequirementsWorks outdoors at construction sites as well as indoorsFrequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, stoops, and crouches while negotiating work areas under constructionSits, reads, writes, and uses a computer keyboardMay be exposed to harsh weather conditions including very hot and very cold weatherMay be exposed to loud noiseThis job description is not intended to represent a complete, comprehensive list of all duties and responsibilities that may be required in this position.
