Constellation Search Group is looking for a Project Engineer - Plastics for a full-time direct hire position. This role involves leading cross-functional teams from the quoting stage through to production launch, supporting sales strategies in medical device and component manufacturing. The Project Engineer will manage multiple projects with a focus on technical excellence to achieve production objectives.


Responsibilities:

  • Review part designs, including drafts, side-actions, and shutoffs.
  • Understand tooling, mold features, and construction basics to review mold designs.
  • Apply medical molding experience, including High-Consistency Rubber, Gum Silicone, and Liquid Silicone molding.
  • Utilize thermoplastic and/or thermoset injection molding experience as a plus.
  • Implement good manufacturing processes and advanced quality planning (APQP).
  • Employ Design of Experiments (DOEs), capability studies, "Steel Safe/Tolerance Safe” concepts, automation concepts, and manage secondary operations.
  • Manage multiple projects with sound organization skills and effective timeline management.
  • Coordinate with multiple suppliers and manage project budgets effectively.
  • Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses with side shields is used.

Qualifications:

  • An engineering degree in Mechanical or Plastics.
  • Five or more years of experience in plastic manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication skills to represent the company to customers and suppliers.
  • Fundamental computer skills, including business software like Excel and Word, and familiarity with ERP systems, preferably IQMS.
