Client Details

Our client is a reputable, General Contractor in the Metro Detroit area. With nearly four decades of experience, they specialize in the commercial, retail, office, and industrial/manufacturing spaces. Due to growth in the pipeline, they are looking to bring on an experienced and dedicated Project Engineer to join the team. This individual will be essential to their work/projects and long-term growth of the organization!




Description

  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure project goals and specifications are met.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Assist in project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and cost control.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily logs.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, safety, and compliance with design documents.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Support problem-solving efforts on-site, identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact project timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
  • Track project milestones and prepare progress reports for stakeholders.

Profile

  • Degree in Construction Management (or related field)
  • 2+ years of Project Engineer experience at a general contractor
  • Experience working on renovation and remodel projects up to $5M
  • Experience working on commercial, retail, office, and industrial/manufacturing projects
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Procore (or similar platforms)
  • Must be a self-motivated individual who works independently and excels in a fast-paced environment
