Design it. Build it. Test it. Own it.
As a Project Engineer at Metalcraft of Mayville, you will take ownership of the engineering development of compact construction equipment attachments—from the initial concept through design, prototyping, testing, validation, and release to production. The attachments will include buckets, grapples, trenchers, stump grinders, augers, brush cutters, plows, or whatever our customer’s demand.
You won't just be reviewing drawings or supporting someone else's design. You'll be designing products that go to work in the field
· Ability to design new products from the ground up with minimal or no product history.
· Do all aspects of design from planning, modeling, part selection (hydraulic motor, hoses, bearings, hardware, bushings, etc.), define analysis plan (hand calculations, FEA, etc.), define test plans, work validation process, failure analysis, create drawings, manufacturability reviews, and all aspects of product launch.
· Product research and define details of new products or product improvements.
· Manage design records.
· Hands-on with prototype builds, product testing, and evaluation of tested product.
· Create and manage Engineering Change Notices.
· Prepare manuals and assist Marketing with sales documentation.
· Leadership skills within the Attachment Engineering team and our many other teams.
· 3-D CAD modeling and drawing creation using CREO.
· Other duties as assigned.

· A combination of 5-8 years of relevant experience in product design and manufacturing is preferred.
· Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking applied new product design.
· Able to work on own initiative but also contribute as a team member working within Engineering and other cross functional teams.
· Strong communication and project management skills.
· Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Creo experience preferred.
· Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related experience.
