About the Opportunity
A leading precision manufacturing company specializing in highly engineered components and advanced manufacturing solutions for demanding aerospace and industrial applications is hiring two Project Engineers for its Erlanger, KY facility.
This is a hands-on engineering opportunity for professionals who enjoy working at the intersection of manufacturing engineering, machining, process improvement, quality, and production.
The Project Engineer will evaluate customer requirements, develop efficient manufacturing processes, support production teams, troubleshoot technical challenges, and drive improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
The position offers opportunities for engineers at different stages of their careers, with compensation aligned to the depth and relevance of their experience.
What You’ll Do
- Evaluate customer drawings, models, specifications, and purchase orders to identify manufacturing requirements.
- Develop, prepare, and maintain manufacturing process routings and operation instructions.
- Determine tooling, gaging, programs, and other resources required to support production.
- Partner with Quality Engineering to develop inspection processes, methods, equipment, and frequencies.
- Identify and implement manufacturing process improvements to increase efficiency, improve quality, and reduce costs.
- Provide technical support to shop-floor personnel and troubleshoot production issues.
- Support root-cause analysis and change implementation using tools such as FMEA, DMAIC, PDCA, and 5-Why.
- Review legacy parts and processes to ensure they meet current standards.
- Support quoting activities and evaluate jobs for profitability and on-time delivery.
- Work with cell leaders and process specialists to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Implement solutions that improve quality, reliability, consistency, and cost effectiveness.
- Support metallurgical evaluations and review laboratory results.
- Participate in customer meetings related to engineering issues and new part development.
- Assist with training and knowledge sharing across engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Work within established AS9100, NADCAP, ISO, and other quality standards.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
Candidates should meet one of the following qualification pathways:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; OR
- Associate’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of manufacturing experience; OR
- High school diploma/equivalent with 10+ years of manufacturing experience.
Technical Qualifications
The ideal background will include:
- Experience with conventional and nonconventional machining and inspection methods.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and understand GD&T.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience using standard inspection equipment such as micrometers, height gauges, and calipers.
- Experience with CAD software, including NX, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or similar training.
- Understanding of quality systems such as AS9100, ISO, and NADCAP.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience Levels
- Minimum Experience | $70K–$80K
- Candidates who meet the required education/experience pathway and demonstrate the core manufacturing engineering and technical capabilities outlined above.
- Mid-Level | $80K–$90K
- Candidates with established manufacturing/process engineering experience and a broader range of hands-on experience across machining, process improvement, quality, and production support.
- Highly Experienced | $90K–$100K
- Candidates with extensive, directly relevant manufacturing engineering expertise and a strong track record in areas such as process development, machining, continuous improvement, technical troubleshooting, quality systems, and shop-floor support.
Additional Requirement
- Must meet the ITAR definition of a U.S. Person; documentation will be required.

- Work in an environment where noise levels may be loud.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a strong commitment to accountability.
