    \n

Our team brings extensive multifamily construction experience and a practical, hands-on approach to preconstruction, budgeting, constructability, value engineering, scheduling, procurement, and project execution. We focus on identifying issues early, providing our clients with reliable information, and delivering projects with a high level of accountability, quality, and professionalism.

    \n

    Our primary goals are:

    \n

Cost - Deliver projects of long-term value within justifiable, benchmarked budgets.

    \n

Performance - Measure the process and outcomes.

    \n

Schedule - Deliver projects professionally and on time.

    \n

    Position: Project Engineer

    \n

    Job Purpose

    \n

The Project Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day coordination, documentation, and administrative control of assigned construction projects. Working closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent, the Project Engineer manages RFIs, submittals, procurement tracking, contract documents, project correspondence, and other project controls while developing the technical, financial, and leadership skills necessary to progress into project management.

    \n

    Core Responsibilities

    \n

Review drawings, specifications, addenda, submittals, and other contract documents; develop a working understanding of the project scope and proactively identify conflicts, missing information, constructability concerns, and coordination issues.

    \n

Manage the RFI process, including drafting clear RFIs, obtaining internal review, issuing and tracking RFIs, distributing responses, and confirming that resulting changes are incorporated into the project documents and communicated to affected parties.

    \n

Manage the submittal process, including maintaining the submittal log, reviewing subcontractor submissions for completeness and general conformance with contract requirements, routing submittals for review, tracking turnaround times, and distributing approved information.

    \n

Maintain current project drawings, specifications, bulletins, ASIs, RFIs, and other contract documents in Procore and/or the project document-control system; help ensure the project team is working from current information.

    \n

Develop and maintain procurement and long-lead tracking logs. Coordinate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, subcontractors, and vendors to identify required release dates and monitor fabrication, delivery, and installation milestones.

    \n

Assist with subcontractor and vendor buyout, including bid leveling, scope review, preparation of scope exhibits, subcontract documentation, and identification of scope gaps or overlaps.

    \n

Assist with project cost control by reviewing subcontractor pay applications and vendor invoices, tracking commitments and potential changes, maintaining change logs, and supporting budget updates and forecasting.

    \n

Identify potential change events early. Assist with obtaining subcontractor pricing, reviewing backup, documenting cost and schedule impacts, and preparing owner and subcontractor change-order documentation.

    \n

Work closely with the Superintendent on field coordination, constructability, sequencing, inspections, material deliveries, and resolution of issues affecting production, quality, or schedule.

    \n

Assist with project scheduling, including procurement milestones, short-term look-ahead schedules, schedule updates, constraint tracking, and recovery planning as directed by the Project Manager and Superintendent.

    \n

Prepare meeting agendas, meeting minutes, action-item logs, and project correspondence. Follow up with responsible parties to drive open items to resolution.

    \n

Assist with permit, utility, jurisdictional, and inspection tracking as required by the project.

    \n

Participate in quality-control activities, punch walks, and documentation of corrective work. Help ensure work conforms to the contract documents and Acadian quality standards.

    \n

Manage assigned closeout activities, including punch lists, as-built documentation, O&M manuals, warranties, attic stock, training documentation, and turnover requirements.

    \n

Build productive relationships with owners, design professionals, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal team members while representing Acadian Group professionally.

    \n

Perform other project-related responsibilities assigned by the Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Project Executive, or Superintendent consistent with the development of the Project Engineer role.

    \n

    Minimum Requirements

    \n

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

    \n

    • Zero to three years of construction experience; relevant internship, co-op, field, or project-management experience is strongly preferred.

    \n

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, details, and schedules and to develop increasing proficiency in identifying coordination and constructability issues.

    \n

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with Procore and Bluebeam preferred; exposure to Microsoft Project and/or P6 is a plus.

    \n

Ability to work from the project site and participate in field walks, meetings, inspections, and other project activities as required.

    \n

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    \n

Strong organization and follow-through with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, logs, and open items without losing accountability.

    \n

Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, subcontractors, design professionals, owners, and internal leadership.

    \n

Curiosity and technical aptitude; willingness to study the drawings and specifications, ask questions, and understand how the work is actually built.

    \n

Ability to identify problems early, gather the information necessary to understand them, and help drive practical solutions rather than simply documenting issues after they occur.

    \n

High attention to detail and accuracy in project documentation, cost information, correspondence, and contract records.

    \n

Ability to prioritize work, operate with urgency, and follow issues through final resolution.

    \n

Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively with both project-management and field teams.

    \n

Professional judgment, accountability, integrity, and a willingness to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.

    \n

Desire and demonstrated ability to grow into increased project-management responsibility.
