    Our client is a well-established heavy civil contractor specializing in large-scale infrastructure projects throughout Texas. They are seeking a Project Engineer to support operations on a major project in the Houston area throughout the week. This role is based out of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex but requires travel to Houston for the remainder of the project.

    The company provides company-paid lodging, meals, a company truck, and a gas card while working away from home.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional looking to gain hands-on experience on impactful infrastructure projects while working alongside experienced project managers and field leadership.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with day-to-day project execution.
    • Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
    • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and field crews.
    • Monitor project schedules and help ensure milestones are achieved.
    • Review plans, specifications, and contract documents.
    • Assist with quantity tracking, cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
    • Support procurement activities and material deliveries.
    • Participate in project meetings and maintain accurate meeting minutes.
    • Ensure project documentation is complete and organized.
    • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on all job sites.
    • Build strong working relationships with owners, engineers, inspectors, and project stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of construction experience (internships and co-ops considered).
    • Experience with heavy civil projects preferred, including:
      • Highways
      • Bridges
      • Underground utilities
      • Earthwork
      • Site development
      • Concrete structures
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam, Procore, HCSS, or Primavera P6 is a plus.
    • Willingness to travel and work on projects throughout Texas.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Base Salary: $70,000 – $95,000
