We add value to our industry and the communities in which we work.Position SummaryThe primary objective of this role is to manage the Engineering function, plan and execute projects.Key Tasks and ResponsibilitiesReviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures or accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resourcesConfers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authorityDirects and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budgetReviews status reports for management, client, and othersCoordinates project activities with Traylor personnel and joint venture partnersResponsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the project, including safety, performance, budget, scheduling, equipment management, and qualityCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable lawsWork with and be part of the estimating departments during project procurement phasesAssume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management.Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc.Understand Subcontract, Work Order, Formal POBudget Preparation and ManagementManage Project ControlsAbility to relocate as neededSkills and AbilitiesProblem-solving skillsDecision-making skillsEffective listening skillsNegotiation skillsAttention to detailEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsWorking knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and ExcelKnowledge of AutoCAD preferredStrong organizational and time management skillsThe ability to work independently as well as part of a teamThe ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environmentsEducation/ExperienceBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is requiredMinimum 7 years of heavy civil construction experience requiredDesign, project management and supervisory experience requiredMarine and Foundation Construction experience preferredPhysical DemandsTravel will be required to attend training and meetings.Ability to sit or stand for the entire shiftOccasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb.Ability to lift, frequently, at least 50 pounds.Work outdoors in all weather conditions.Ability to speak, write, and understand English clearly.EEO StatementAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.Job Location: Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, United StatesPosition Type: Full-Time/Regular#J-18808-Ljbffr
