The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and planning skills, leadership abilities, and a high ethical standard.Job Title: Project EngineerLocation: RemotePay Range: CompetitiveWhat's the Job?Lead assigned capital projects (standalone projects and projects within plant outages) and handle all engineering, design, and construction resourcesDevelop estimates, funding documents, schedule, and ongoing forecasts for plant implemented projects within SAPEnsure all projects receive adequate process hazard reviews and ORI's and that all recommendations are completed timely.Ensure inherent process safety is adhered to on all project designsProvide field supervision / support during projects executionLead Project SafetyMaintain projects on budget and scheduleVerify all projects meet the operability needs of the customerBasic understanding of operating plant environment.Understands quality standards as outlined by company standardsSafety responsibilities:Conduct Safety Kickoff Meeting with contractors and operations team prior to start of project executionConfirm contractor is aware of and follows all AP Safety StandardsClearly communicate safety goals – 0 Recordables, 0 First AidsComplete short‑term contractor BSP forms daily during execution of projectComplete JSA reviews and fill out JSA Review form daily during execution of projectParticipate in the Safe Work Permit issuance process with the operations teamLead daily morning safety / toolbox meetings with all craftsReport all incidents immediatelyEnsure all contractors on site for project execution have submitted an Emergency Action Plan prior to mobilizationParticipate in Safety Sampling and Critical Safety Audits during outagesAttend and contribute to monthly Safety MeetingsPerformance standard:Willing to work a wide variety of scheduled days and hours, following strict fatigue management guidelines.Traveling within the West Region may be required as much as 25‑45% depending on project.Able to work without close supervision.Works professionally and harmoniously with co‑workers, supervisors, management, support personnel, program participants, and business‑related persons.Uses positive and constructive attitude toward resolution of problems and conflicts.Accepts direction, criticism, and supervision.Demonstrates ability to remain calm in demanding situations.Ability to work within and promote a teamwork philosophy.Makes good use of time, completing assigned workload in a timely manner.Ability to demonstrate and perform efficiently and reliably all categories of this document.Required abilities and conduct:Able to achieve various State‑mandated certifications (TWIC, OSHA, etc.) and other requirements as may be deemed necessary.Prioritize “Zero is achievable” safety policy in words and actions to protect self, others and the environment.High ethical standards - not willing to compromise on worker safety and regulatory compliance requirements.Demonstrates positive, supportive, and cooperative behavior in interacting with co‑workers, supervisors, and management.Maintains confidentiality of written and verbal information pertaining to the company, its staff, management and participating onsite affiliates.Qualifications:Technical degree (chemical engineering or mechanical engineering preferred)Professional Engineer preferredStrong leadership abilities, organizational and planning skillsManufacturing plant operations, maintenance, and capital projects experienceExamples of being a role model within Project Engineering function.Highest of ethical standards and unwilling to compromise on all worker safety and regulatory compliance requirements.Organizational credibility - able to influence business area, engineering and manufacturing managers in the way we make decisions5-10 years' experience in maintenance and/or engineering fieldsAbility to travel within West Region 25‑45% of the time depending on assigned workloadObtain TWIC, passport, and pass refinery background checksIf this is a role that interests you and you'd like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
