Position Overview
As a Project Engineer in San Antonio, TX, you’ll support the successful completion of construction projects by helping plan, organize, and control key project elements. You’ll work closely with the Senior Project Manager/Project Manager and the on-site Superintendent to keep documentation, procurement, schedules, and closeout activities on track.

You’ll also play an active role in supporting development and property management upgrades/changes, managing on-site stored material inventory, issuing RFIs, and reviewing submittals. Key Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for day-to-day project support, including:

- Support the Project Manager and/or Superintendent on-site with daily coordination and execution
- Assist with receiving materials on-site as needed, including unloading support on occasion
- Collect model numbers for installed materials and verify alignment with prints and specifications
- Manage submittals, including F&E logs, and support subcontractor adherence to approved submittals
- Maintain project document control, including RFIs, submittals, transmittals, bills of lading/delivery tickets, current plans, and ASI documents
- Assist with plan and specification review to help create scopes of work and support contract execution as needed
- Support Owner and Architect communication, including OAC meetings and meeting minutes
- Assist with project financial tracking as requested, including contracts, projections, and billings
- Prepare and distribute project descriptions and timelines as directed by the Superintendent and/or Project Manager
- Prepare status reports and help monitor subcontractors, schedules, dumpsters, rentals, storage units, and general labor
- Maintain accurate electronic records and databases for project elements
- Maintain a safe, clean, and productive field office environment by enforcing procedures
- Support compliance with OSHA requirements and local building department regulations
- Build and maintain a procurement log aligned with the project schedule; track material needs and proactively follow up with subcontractors and suppliers to confirm or adjust delivery dates
- Support unit turns by preparing management acceptance sheets, attending unit walk inspections with property management, creating punch lists, and following through with communication to project leadership
- Attend scheduling meetings and maintain the 3-week look-ahead whiteboard with input from the Superintendent and Project Manager
- Attend field meetings as required
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Working knowledge of building principles, construction practices and methods, environmental regulations, project management methods, and workplace safety
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; ProCore preferred
- Ability to read and follow construction plans and diagrams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility and the ability to perform well in a fast-paced construction site environment
- Ability to travel to multiple job sites within the same region as needed

Training Requirements
- OSHA 10-hour certification (willing to train)
- First Aid/CPR certification (willing to train)

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to lift, move, push, pull, and/or carry items up to 50 lbs. or more
- Ability to see well (naturally or with correction) and coordinate hands, eyes, and fingers
- Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods, including uneven or unpaved ground
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and work at heights as required
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors, including in a construction job trailer environment
- Exposure to typical construction site hazards such as moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, fumes, electrical risk, and moderate-to-loud noise levels
- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment per company safety policies
