LOCATION: Palatine, IL

SALARY: $55,000 to $70,000

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Project Engineer plays a key role in supporting project delivery by managing documentation, coordinating communication, and assisting with day-to-day project operations. Working alongside project managers and field staff, this position helps maintain organization, accuracy, and momentum throughout the project lifecycle.

PROJECT ENGINEER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

\n

 

\n

Pre-Construction:

\n

·        Assist in soliciting subcontractors, the permitting paperwork, setting up the job site logistics, and the assembly of subcontractor scopes of work

\n

Project & System Management:

\n

·        Manage commitments in Project Management Software to include Prime Contracts, Subcontractor/Vendor Contracts, Purchase Orders, Owner and Subcontractor Change Orders

\n

·        Track all documentation for compliance with Procore to show final approval and execution, to include Prime Contracts, Subcontracts, Certificates of Insurance, W9’s, Purchase Orders, Owner and Subcontractor Change Orders

\n

·        Receive, review, submit, and track subcontractor/vendor submittals, shop drawings, and Requests for Information

\n

·        Establish and maintain within Procore project logs to include Procurement log, RFI log, Submittal log, Safety log, etc. 

\n

·        Develop, maintain, and distribute meeting agendas and minutes, and attend onsite meetings that may require meeting minutes

\n

·        Responsible for compiling the project Close-Out package to include Warranty letters, O&M’s, As-Builts, etc. 

\n

·        Assist in the assembly and review of Pay Applications, as required

\n

·        Assist in obtaining the required Certificate of Occupancy and any other applicable approvals

\n

\n

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

\n

 

\n

REQUIRED:

\n

• \n
• BS/BA in Architecture, Construction Management, or related field, or a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a commercial construction environment
• \n
• Knowledge of basic building design and construction systems
• \n
• Ability to read construction documents and specification manuals
• \n
• Ability to compile and analyze data
• \n
• Strong organizational and writing/speaking skills
• \n

PREFERRED:

\n

• \n
• Experience supporting projects ranging from $50K – $10M (+) contracts in the commercial, restaurant, retail, healthcare and/or industrial construction environments
• \n
• Knowledge of construction estimating and procurement processes
• \n
• Willingness to grow into a leader and member of a dedicated team
• \n
• Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in working with computers and other types of technology.
• \n
• Desired Computer Applications Experience: Microsoft Office Applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project
