Project Engineer (PE) - MTA Infrastructure Projects

You'll step into a hands-on engineering role supporting a major $42M MTA job, working closely with both field teams and design stakeholders to keep complex infrastructure work moving. The company has built a strong reputation in public-sector construction and is entering a high-growth year with over $500M in secured work.

Our client is a well-established general contractor specializing in MTA, transit, and public infrastructure projects across the NYC metro area. They've developed long-standing relationships with public agencies and continue to win repeat work, giving them one of the stronger pipelines in the market heading into 2026.

Description

• Support execution of a $42M active MTA project
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and engineering documentation
• Coordinate with design teams, consultants, and field staff
• Ensure compliance with MTA/NYCTA standards and specs
• Assist with scheduling, cost tracking, and reporting
• Support constructability reviews and value engineering efforts

Profile

A successful Project Engineer should have:

• PE License prefferred
• 3-8+ years in heavy civil, transit, or infrastructure projects
• Experience with MTA, DOT, or public agency work preferred
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and specs
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced project environment
