Project Engineer (Plastic Injection Molding) - Warren, OH - JOB 26-00354
Salary Range: $76,000 - $100,000 Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits
A Warren, Ohio area Manufacturing Firm that seeks to hire an experienced Plastic Injection Molding Project Engineer who is able to lead complex, multi-phase product launches across a diverse customer base including automotive, appliance, industrial, solar, consumer and electronics markets.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the full lifecycle of new product launches, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and meets all quality specifications.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and vendors, managing expectations and technical requirements.
- Drive the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process and manage documentation through to PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
- Oversee mold design, construction, sampling, and validation activities to ensure manufacturing feasibility.
- Develop comprehensive project timelines, manage budgets, and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve technical issues and identify project risks early with proactive solutions.
- Support quoting processes, Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews, and cost reduction initiatives using the latest automation technologies.
- Visit customer and supplier sites as necessary to ensure project alignment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or a related field).
- Minimum of 7+ years of professional engineering experience with at least 5+ years in Plastic Injection Molding.
- Proven experience managing complex tooling and product launches.
- Expert-level knowledge of APQP and PPAP protocols.
- Hands-on experience with mold design, build, and validation.
- Software Proficiency: * Strong skills in SolidWorks (or similar parametric modeling software).
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (IQMS/ Delmi Works highly preferred) and
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
