Our client is a leading mechanical contractor performing complex industrial and commercial construction projects throughout Southern California. They are seeking a Project Engineer to support project management activities on high-profile process piping and mechanical construction projects.
This position offers excellent exposure to project management, estimating, procurement, scheduling, and field operations while working alongside experienced construction professionals on technically challenging projects.
KeyResponsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with the execution of process piping and mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through completion
- Coordinate project documentation, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout packages
- Support procurement activities, including material tracking and vendor coordination
- Monitor project budgets, costs, productivity, and schedule performance
- Participate in project meetings with clients, contractors, vendors, and field personnel
- Track project progress and assist with schedule updates and reporting
- Coordinate with field teams to ensure work is progressing according to project requirements
- Support contract administration and change management efforts
- Assist with project forecasting, reporting, and risk management activities
DesiredQualifications
- 2+ years of construction experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar role
- Experience supporting mechanical, industrial, process piping, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, manufacturing, or MEP construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, and project workflows
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
