Key Project Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 0-3 years of engineering experience; internship and co-op experience will be considered.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project Professional.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to support multiple projects and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Summary:

We have an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer to support capital upgrade projects located in Bergen, NJ and Linden, NJ. This position will assist with project execution, schedule management, technical documentation, and coordination activities to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to gain exposure to the power generation industry and develop a long-term career supporting capital projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the planning and execution of assigned projects.
• Assist with managing project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Help define, track, and control project scope and action items.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate technical specifications, bid packages, and project documentation.
• Maintain project files, drawings, submittals, reports, and correspondence through effective document control practices.
• Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to support project progress.
• Track project issues, changes, and follow-up actions to ensure timely resolution.
• Prepare meeting agendas, notes, and action item logs.
• Monitor project documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
• Provide field support and site coordination activities as needed.

Job Requirements:

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple active projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project Professional.
• Familiarity with technical drawings, specifications, and bid packages.
• Exposure to project scheduling, project controls, or document management systems is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Willingness to work in both office and industrial plant environments.
• Ability to travel locally between Bergen and Linden project sites as required.

Education / Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering required.
• 0-3 years of engineering experience in project engineering, project coordination, construction, manufacturing, utilities, or related industries.
• Internship, co-op, or early-career experience supporting engineering or capital projects will be considered.
• Experience supporting power generation, industrial, utility, or capital projects is preferred.
• EIT certification is a plus but not required.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $45 - $55.
