Position Description

I.            POSITION ASSIGNMENT: 

TITLE: Project Engineer (PE) 

RECRUITED BY: Operations Manager

BASIC FUNCTION: The PE is responsible for review and coordination of the Detention Equipment (DE) or Security Electronics (SE) product engineering that is applicable to assigned projects, ensuring that all contractual scope of work requirements is satisfied. 

II.            QUALIFICATIONS: 

·         Engineering or Construction related College Degree

·         5 years’ experience in detention equipment engineering or installation (DE) and/or

·         5 years’ experience in security electronics (SE)

·         Detail-Oriented and Analytical

·         Conscientious and Thorough

·         Self-Correction and Accountability

III.            RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.   Responsible for analyzing and interpreting architectural plans and specifications.

2.   Reviews project scope of work details as outlined in the subcontract.

3.   Research architectural construction documents to engineer and produce submittals

for all product and material for assigned projects. 

4.   Accountable for submittals and Architect approval, including final coordination of

material to ensure proper fabrication.

5.   Provide technical assistance, advise on product application, recommend

construction methods, and review constructability as necessary. 

6.   Responsible for product submittal questions including organization and presentation

of detailed schedules for Architect approval. 

7.   Communicate with various project participants through email correspondence,

phone, video meetings, RFI, substitution requests, and on-site meetings if necessary.

8.   Produces all closeout documentation. 

9.   Instructs CAD operators in the design of control station(s) and overall system (SE Only).

10. Prepares programming worksheets per design layout (SE Only).

11. Gains submittal approval for design and generates production documents (SE Only).

12. Assists in the testing of all systems during production (SE Only).

13. Other relative duties as assigned.

Assists with Project Manager (PM)

1.      Performs submittal review meetings on all assigned projects.

2.      Reviews architectural changes to ongoing projects to determine and confirm scope

of work revisions.

3.      Other relative duties as assigned.
