This Project Engineer role supports an offsite manufacturing team in Spokane, focusing on large data-center projects for a major mechanical contractor in the Pacific Northwest. You will develop and manage project plans, schedules, and scopes of work in a fast-paced environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to improve workflows, enhance efficiency, and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget. Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and scopes of work for offsite manufacturing and construction projects.
• Manage procurement and purchasing activities, including coordinating with suppliers and maintaining supply chain alignment.
• Coordinate material logistics and vendor communication to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.
• Track project financials, support budgeting efforts, and help ensure adherence to budget targets.
• Assist with financial oversight tasks such as budgeting, estimating, approving change orders, and cost tracking on projects.
• Support project managers with project coordination for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, with a strong focus on HVAC systems.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, and schedule tracking using tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Interpret shop drawings and support construction sequencing for steel, heavy equipment, and general construction activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and resolve coordination challenges.
• Support field teams with technical documentation, reporting, and other project-related administrative tasks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of construction and offsite manufacturing methods by identifying opportunities for process enhancements.
• Communicate proactively with stakeholders to provide clarity on project status, risks, and required actions.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in construction or manufacturing environments.
• Two or more years of experience in project management, engineering, or construction.
• Experience working with a major mechanical subcontractor, preferably with significant exposure to HVAC systems.
• Proficiency in Navisworks, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, including steel work, heavy equipment operations, and general construction sequencing.
• Experience with purchasing coordination and material logistics in a construction or manufacturing context.
• Familiarity with financial oversight on projects, including budgeting, estimating, approving change orders, and cost tracking.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) coordination, particularly in commercial construction environments.
• Strong project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Ability to interpret and work from shop drawings and construction documents.

Work Environment

This role is based in an office setting in Spokane that supports offsite manufacturing and large data-center construction projects for a major mechanical contractor in the Pacific Northwest. You will work closely with project managers, field teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Standard work expectations include a full-time schedule with eligibility to accrue 40 hours of paid time off while on contract, along with six standard holidays. The team culture emphasizes accountability, continuous learning, process improvement, and innovation in construction methods. You will regularly use tools such as Navisworks, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and scheduling software like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, as well as engage with technical documentation, shop drawings, and project financial systems. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
