The experienced gained through exposure to each phase of project development will enhance your skills as you transition into a leadership role focused on a specific area.In This Role, The Project Engineer Will Assist Incompleting assessment of roadways and drainage structuresdevelopment of design plans for projects of varying complexity, ranging from pavement overlays to roundabout designcomplete construction inspection of road and bridge projectsEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAssessment & Project Design – under supervision of a Project Manager (Professional Engineer):Coordinate with clients to determine project needsComplete on site investigation of roadway assets and develop recommendations for improvementsDevelop design plans for roadway projects using AutoCAD and MicroStationAssist in the preparation of quantities and cost estimatesComplete quality control reviews of construction plans, design calculations and other contract documentsCoordinate with contractors, utility companies and other stakeholders to discuss plans, specifications, and schedulesWork closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projectsRequirementsEducation and ExperienceDemonstrated ability to learn and apply civil engineering fundaments to real-world projectsAbility to learn and interpret INDOT Design Manual and Standard SpecificationsExcellent written and verbal communications skillsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or universityLicenses, CertificationsIf an employee plans to use their own vehicle in the scope of their employment with Shrewsberry, they will be required to provide proof of insurance and a drivers licensePreferred ExperienceAbility to become licensed Professional Engineer within 4 years2+ years of experience in the inspection of civil heavy highway projectsExperience working on design of INDOT or Federally Funded LPA projectsWe're an equal opportunity employer.
