Project Engineer (Transportation)

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Project Engineer to work with our Transportation business unit. The position requires 5+ years of experience. This position is responsible for assisting & leading project teams, developing engineering solutions, and delivering a thorough and comprehensive end product.Position Responsibilities/Duties Resolve engineering problems and tasks as they are assigned, with help as needed from more experienced staffPerform transportation engineering analyses and calculationsPrepare and write engineering and other reportsWork as part of a team to complete general transportation engineering services for municipal, county, and state agenciesAssist in the preparation of reports and feasibility studiesDevelop engineering plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E)Position Requirements Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred)Ability to lead, manage and schedule staff to meet project needsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalExperience working with the Illinois Department of Transportation and local municipalities (preferred)Use of Microsoft Office Products (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)Proficient in the use of MicroStation with OpenRoadsDesigner/Geopak or AutoCAD with Civil 3DMust possess a valid driver's licenseMust complete a background checkEducational Requirements Bachelor of Science in Civil EngineeringSalary Range Horner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $85,000 to $115,000.
