Project EngineerThe Project Engineer (PE) shall support the Project Manager (PM), and Superintendent (Supt) as required for them to meet their goals through all phases of a project.Primary DutiesResponsible for managing the submittal processResponsible for managing the RFI processResponsible for managing the change order proposal processProvide research, backup support, legwork, data entry etc. as requested by the PM and SuptComplete budget revisions and modifications in Viewpoint as required throughout the jobAssist to maintain a high level of safety in alignment with Abbott's core valuesAbility to combine knowledge of engineering methods, construction methods and human management skillsProvide support for planning, scheduling and coordinating projects to meet deadlinesOffer support to the estimating department by soliciting subcontractors for projects as well as managing and distributing plansBe the main point of contact for subcontractors as requested by the Project ManagerIf needed, act as a Project Manager when a Project Manager is unavailableRequired SkillsStrong negotiation and leadership skillsUnderstands accounting, financial statements, job cost, and cash flowRequired QualificationsMust be able to pass a drug test4-year degree in a construction related majorMotivated for a long-term career in construction2 years' project engineering experiencePreferred experience with tenant improvements and fast-paced construction managing multiple projects concurrentlyA focus on following processes and procedures, taking ownership of the role, and not being afraid of difficult conversations and relaying bad news when requiredCompensationThe full salary range for this position is $78,000 to $105,000.
