Kennedy Jenks is seeking a dynamic Project Engineer to join our team in Northern California. This role is ideal for an individual skilled in managing multiple tasks and deadlines while working with multi-disciplinary teams. In this role, you will be involved in a variety of water, wastewater, recycled water, utility infrastructure, and treatment process improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Analysis:
  • Develop detailed designs consisting of drawings, specifications, and calculations for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Manage technical tasks including planning, design, and construction support for civil infrastructure projects.
  • Project Management:
  • Support larger projects or lead smaller projects or components, coordinating with the Project Manager team members and sub-consultants.
  • Ensure the timely completion of tasks and assist in managing project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide expert support for multi-disciplinary teams in planning and executing infrastructure projects, including pipelines, tanks, reservoirs, pump stations, and treatment facilities.
  • Understand and apply industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Field Work:
  • Conduct site inspections and field measurements.
  • Engage in field activities ensuring accurate data collection and analysis.
  • Documentation and Coordination:
  • Prepare engineering documents and contract documents, including construction specifications and plans.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to requests for information, and prepare site observation reports.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Assist in preparing client presentations and maintaining client communication.
  • Ensure compatibility with design intent by coordinating with other disciplines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or related scientific discipline required.
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in the planning, design, and analysis of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Broad understanding of municipal engineering, site development, design, construction methods, and design and construction codes.
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain California PE within 6 months of hire.
  • Valid drivers license and good driving record required.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range for this position is anticipated to be $105,000 to $170,000 and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure, certifications, and geographic location.
