The Project Engineer is responsible for managing capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The capital projects will largely be automation projects, but will include other capital projects as required to support the plant. This role involves leading project teams, providing technical expertise, and driving continual improvement initiatives to enhance projects and plant efficiency. Additionally, the Project Engineer ensures compliance with industry standards and regulations, supports plant performance, drives Industry 4.0 initiatives, and contributes to the development and implementation of innovative solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals.


Capital Projects: Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring of assigned capital projects. Lead the planning, engineering design, and execution of capital projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline. Oversee the development of detailed project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and quality assurance. Manage contractors and suppliers. Develop documentation related to capital RFQ, procurement, installation, and commissioning. Develop documentation related to capital RFQ, procurement, installation, and commissioning. Develop initial designs and layouts for the assigned packages and then expand them into detailed plans and drawings. Evaluation and development of assigned capital packages related to design, capital requests, procurement (including, scope of works documents, contracts and change orders), budget, schedule, installation and commissioning. Prepare and present project status reports, proposals, and technical documentation to senior management and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines, consistently demonstrating a commitment to high safety and environmental standards. Ensure the efficient transfer of projects to the Operations team, including all documentation, training support, procedure documents, spare parts packages, preventive maintenance manuals, troubleshooting guides, etc. Coordinate factory acceptance and site acceptance testing as required. Coordinate startup and commissioning of equipment and other mechanical systems onsite. Lead post-installation optimization of new equipment. Develop method for measuring & tracking return on investment and ensure investment delivers at expected capability, capacity and performance levels.


Industry 4.0 Projects: -Implement controllers or other hardware to capture process data from equipment and develop software systems to utilize that data for improved process control and improvement in the efficiency of business processes.


Bachelor's degree Engineering- Required, Master's preferred

Project Engineering in manufacturing or production- Minimum 7-10 years

Have a good understanding of the capitalization process for projects, including RA process, Equip & Capex + systems

Uses structured problem-solving methodologies for data driven analysis and decisions

Design using computer aided drafting and design

Experience working with Allen Bradley and Siemens controllers; understand ladder logic and scripting

Experience with System Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Fanuc robots, sequel database setups, and standard business networking

Have a high level of proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs

Knowledge of SAP is a plus

Strong project management and organizational skills

Interpersonal skills sufficiently developed to interact with plant personnel, other plants, suppliers, and contractors to find and implement solutions to problems.

Have the ability to instruct and get work done through vendors and plant maintenance.

Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.

Experience in industries such as automotive, aerospace, energy, or robotics is highly desirable.

However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.


In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $103,040 to $153,040. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
